COMPANY AUDITIONS
This is your time to shine. SF Ballet is a professional classical ballet company with a guaranteed minimum 42-week-per-year AGMA contract. At this time we are not holding open auditions. Auditions for the Company are by invitation only.
UPDATED 11/18/22: Currently, we do not have any available contracts in the company and therefore, are not reviewing materials or inviting dancers to audition at this time. Once there are available vacancies within the company, we will update this message with information on how to submit your audition materials to the SFB artistic team.
GENERAL COMPANY AUDITIONS

AUDITION AVAILABILITY
San Francisco Ballet is accepting audition materials from experienced professional dancers.
Auditions for the Company are by invitation only. If you’d like to audition, please send the following to auditions@sfballet.org.
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
Resume or CV:Â include all performing experience with a professional ballet company, training, age, height, awards received, etc.
Performance footage (two classical and one contemporary) via email links (YouTube or Vimeo only) or DVD
Dance photos (two to three different full-body views)
Note that an audition is not guaranteed. An audition will only be granted after the artistic staff have reviewed your materials and feel that you may be an appropriate candidate.
SF Ballet is a professional classical ballet company with a guaranteed minimum 42-week per year AGMA contract. A limited number of apprenticeships are available each contract year, mainly offered to students from San Francisco Ballet School’s Trainee Program.
ORCHESTRA AUDITIONS
San Francisco Ballet is proud to deploy a full orchestra for every performance we stage. Join a core group of 49 regular members, augmented to 65 players for certain productions during a performance season that includes an annual production of Nutcracker and a repertory season from winter through spring.

CELLO (5TH CHAIR)
Auditions are scheduled for March 7–9, 2023.
2021-22 Minimum Compensation Guarantee for this position: $63,177, which includes Vacation Pay and EMG/Special Projects Guarantee.
(A new CBA for the 2022-23 Season has yet to be negotiated.)
Full season is December – early May.
Benefits include: 15.59% AFM-EPF pension, sick/personal leave, paid medical, dental, and instrument insurance; paid parking.
