SUMMER BALLET CLASSES (AGES 4–13)

The joy of ballet begins with Pre-Ballet classes at San Francisco Ballet School. We introduce young children to the fundamentals of classical ballet, focusing on proper body alignment, basic ballet technique and terminology, and musicality. As part of the SF Ballet School family, your energetic young child will learn much more than ballet. Exposure to dance reinforces important life skills like creativity, discipline, and team participation—all in a safe, fun, nurturing environment.

2023 DATES: Students may register for one or both sessions.

Session 1: Saturdays – June 17–July 8
Session 2: Saturdays – July 15–August 5

SCHEDULE

Students should participate in the class of the age they will be as of the start of each session. All tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable.

PRE-BALLET FOR AGES 4–5

Saturdays: 9:00–9:45 AM – $125
Saturdays: 11:15–12:00 PM – $125

PRE-BALLET FOR AGES 6–8

Saturdays: 10:00–11:00 AM – $125
Saturdays: 12:15–1:15 PM – $125

ATTIRE

Girls: Footed pink tights, leotard (color of your choice), ballet slippers, and hair should be in a bun.
Boys: Fitted t-shirt, fitted shorts, white ankle socks, and ballet slippers

REGISTER

Continue your ballet training this summer with weekday classes at the San Francisco Ballet School.  All classes are taught by SF Ballet faculty in our studios with live accompaniment.  These classes are for those students with some ballet experience, although no audition is required.

2023 DATES: Students may register for one or both sessions

Session 1: June 12–July 7 (no class June 19 or July 4)
Session 2: July 10–August 4

SCHEDULE

Students should participate in the class of the age they will be during the program.

Level 1: Ages 9–11

Pre-Requisite: minimum of 1–2 years of ballet classes two times per week
Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00–6:15 pm

Session 1: 8 classes – $240 (no class on July 4, so that class will be on July 5)
Session 2: 8 classes – $240

Level 2: Ages 10–12

Pre-Requisite: minimum of 2–3 years of ballet classes, 2–3 times per week.
Monday/Wednesday/Friday 5:00–6:15 pm

Session 1: 12 classes – $365 (no class on June 19, so that class will be on June 20)
Session 2: 12 classes – $365

Level 3: Ages 11–13

Pre-requisite: completion of 3–4 years of ballet classes, minimum 3 times per week and to have at least 4 months of pointe work.

Monday and Wednesday 5:00–6:30 pm
Tuesday and Thursday 5:00–6:45 (The last 15–30 minutes will be for girls to prepare for pointe work)

Session 1: 16 classes – $580 (no class on June 19 & July 4; those classes will be on June 23* and July 7*)
Session 2: 16 classes – $580

ATTIRE

Girls: Footed pink or skin-tone tights, leotard (solid color of your choice), ballet slippers that match the tights, and hair should be in a bun.
Boys: A fitted t-shirt or leotard, footed tights or fitted shorts with socks, and ballet slippers.
