Audition for Summer Session from anywhere in the world

Please note, SF Ballet School will only accept electronic online submissions through the video application website, SlideRoom, and will not review DVDs or email submissions that are sent to the School.

Quick Facts:

  • Age Requirement: Ballet students ages 14–18 may submit an online video audition
  • Duration: A video audition should only last 10–15 minutes. Please review the audition guidelines below to help you prepare combinations.
  • Location: Preferably, videos are filmed in a studio but if needed you can film at home if this is your only option.
  • What to wear:
    • Girls should wear a black leotard and either pink ballet shoes with pink tights or flesh-toned ballet shoes and tights. Girls ages 16–18 who are dancing in a studio should wear pointe shoes for the whole class. Girls ages 16–18 who are dancing at home and all girls ages 14–15 should start in soft ballet slippers and have pointe shoes ready to put on.
    • Boys should wear tights, shoes, and a fitted shirt light-colored preferably in a light color (white or grey) or contrasting color to the surrounding environment.
    • Please no warm-ups, skirts, or baggy clothing.
  • Deadline to submit video auditions: February 15, 2021
